This custom project features a beautiful multi-level bluestone patio, a gas fireplace, and carefully designed retaining walls that will create the perfect outdoor gathering space for years to come.
Building a Strong Foundation
Every exceptional outdoor living space starts below the surface. Before the beauty of the finished patio can be appreciated, it’s essential to ensure the structure is built to last.
During the early stages of construction, our team completed:
- Excavation and footings
- Extensive rebar installation for structural strength
- Block foundation extending all the way to the footings
- Material staging for efficient construction
- Relocation of the existing irrigation system around the new patio footprint
- Preparation for a raised patio with surrounding retaining walls
- Layout to seamlessly tie the new patio into the existing walkway
These foundational elements provide the stability necessary to support the multi-level patio and outdoor fireplace for many years.
Matching the Existing Outdoor Space
One of the goals for this project was to make the new addition feel like it had always been part of the home.
As construction progressed, our craftsmen installed brickwork around the raised patio platform that perfectly complements the home’s existing patio. This thoughtful design approach creates a seamless transition between the original outdoor space and the new entertaining area.
The raised platform also provides an ideal setting for the future gas fireplace, creating a natural focal point for family gatherings and relaxing evenings outdoors.
Preparing for the Bluestone Installation
With the structural work complete, the project moved into another exciting phase.
Concrete was poured to create the patio base, the exterior brickwork was completed, and the gas line was installed in preparation for the custom fireplace. The extensive rebar reinforcement and block construction hidden beneath the surface ensure the finished patio will remain durable and beautiful for years to come.
The project is now ready for the installation of elegant bluestone pavers, which will complete the timeless appearance of this custom outdoor living space.
