We recently completed a whole-house renovation in Guilford County, NC. Originally, the home contained a non-functioning kitchen in the middle of a large open space, an old-fashioned stove, two walls covered in a stone facade, and vintage wallpaper, wood paneling, carpet, lighting, and fixtures throughout.

The first thing we did was remove all the wood paneling and flooring throughout the home, and the walls in the center of the great room that previously contained the kitchen. Once we removed the walls of the original kitchen, the extra large space needed definition. We added a dropzone coming in the front door and a half bathroom adjacent to that spot. A deck addition can be a great way to expand the living space of a home. A deck can provide additional entertaining space and can be customized in countless ways to meet the needs of the homeowner. We recently completed a 14’x20’ pressure-treated deck for some great clients in Walkertown, NC. The new deck is really solid, with joists on 12” on centers instead of 16” on centers, which allows for greater stability.

We recently completed a master bathroom renovation in Greensboro, NC which started out with a full gut to the studs of the original space. The homeowners wanted the updated bath to include handicap-accessible features for future use. These considerations can be a great investment because they will allow the homeowners to stay in the house as they age or develop health issues down the road. To that end, we installed grab bars throughout the shower and toilet area, as well as an adjustable shower wand, and a curbless entry to the shower. We also moved a window in the bathroom to allow space for a bigger shower and a 3’ door to give enough space for a wheelchair.

We were excited to build this custom backyard playground for a great family in Summerfield, NC. We started out with no plans for the project, making it a completely custom build. We worked with the homeowners to determine what they wanted it to include so the kids would really love the playground and get the most use out of it. We chose pressure-treated material for its durability.  The metal roof will provide a nice shaded area for the kids to play year-round.

These homeowners wanted an ADA handicap-approved bathroom in their Greensboro home but were concerned it may be too small. The first thing we did was take out the tub/shower combo to provide room for a custom curbless marble shower with a tiled niche and a foldable teak shower seat. We changed to a pedestal sink to create more space and a comfort-height toilet so everything is now easily accessible with a wheelchair. In this Greensboro kitchen remodel, we gutted the kitchen, redesigned the layout completely, and opened up the kitchen to the dining room with a decorative cased opening. The new layout includes a large pantry and an island with a wine cooler and microwave built into the cabinetry and pendant lights over the top.
